Profile
History
At the time of its establishment, Diponegoro University (Undip) was designated as a state university on October 15, 1960, with the issuance of Government Regulation No. 7 of 1961. At that time, Diponegoro University had four faculties, namely the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences (FHPM), the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Engineering, and the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education.
1962
In addition, before becoming an independent faculty within Undip, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences had undergone 12 (twelve) years of development. It began with the formation of the “Preparatory Committee for the Establishment of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Diponegoro University” based on the Decree of the President of Diponegoro University No. 28/c dated January 6, 1962. This committee had two members, Drs. Hartoyo and M. Marsono, and was chaired by Drs. Sukardjan Hadisutikno with Drs. Fajar as its secretary.
1968
Over time, to accelerate the establishment of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, the committee added three new members, namely Drs. Soetomodradjat, Drs. Kuncoro Hadi, and Satjipto Rahardjo, SH. This appointment was based on the Decree of the Rector of Diponegoro University No. 41/Skpt/SKJ/1968, dated August 18, 1968.
1995 – 2017
Furthermore, the MKDU Department was changed to UPT-MKU in 1995, and finally separated from FISIP Undip under the guidance of the Vice Rector I. Meanwhile, postgraduate programs began to be integrated into FISIP since the issuance of Undip Rector’s Decree No. 609 of 2011. Thus, in 2014, there were five postgraduate programs, namely the Master of Administrative Science Program (starting in 2019 based on Rector’s Decree No. 420/UN7. P/HK/2019, changed to Master of Public Administration), Master of Political Science, Master of Communication Science, Doctor of Public Administration, and Doctor of Social Science.
Along with the development of Diponegoro University into a PTNBH, all Diploma III study programs that were previously part of FISIP became part of the Vocational School (SV) in 2017.
