Extraordinary Deliberation: Leadership Succession Strategies in the Communication Science Student Association

Semarang, November 17, 2025 — The Extraordinary Deliberation of the Communication Science Student Association has been successfully concluded. This meeting was held as a follow-up to the election process for the Chair and Vice Chair of the Communication Science Student Association, who will continue the leadership of the association in the upcoming term. The Deliberation consisted of four stages: the Session for Determining Eligibility Indicators, the Session for Candidate Nomination, the GDO Presentation Session, and the Vote Counting Session. The series of sessions took place from November 8–17, in the PKM Hall and the FISIP Undip Auditorium, involving active board members of the 2026 Communication Science Student Association, as well as Communication Science students who participated in the GDO Presentation and Vote Counting Sessions.

During the Session for Determining Eligibility Indicators, the forum agreed upon the criteria and requirements that candidates for Chair and Vice Chair must fulfill. On the same day, nominations for the leadership candidates were submitted. The nominated pair consisted of Keisyato Asheva Syamawla Avattar as the candidate for Chair and Nabila Khanza Hasnareswari as the candidate for Vice Chair.

Following the nomination, the candidate pair was required to submit the necessary registration documents. On November 14, 2025, they formally submitted their registration to the Communication Science Student Association General Election Committee at the FISIP Undip Lobby. The next day, the Document Verification Session was held to validate the submitted materials. The session confirmed that all documents were complete and valid, allowing the pair—designated as Candidate Pair No. 1—to proceed to the next stages: the GDO Presentation Session and the Vote Counting Session.

The final phase of the Extraordinary Deliberation comprised the GDO Presentation Session and the Vote Counting Session. The GDO presentation drew considerable attention, as many Communication Science students actively participated by providing critiques and feedback. The agenda concluded with the vote counting, where the candidate pair secured 29 votes out of 34 eligible voting participants. Based on this result, Keisyato Asheva Syamawla Avattar and Nabila Khanza Hasnareswari were officially elected as the Chair and Vice Chair of the Communication Science Student Association for the 2026 term.

The successful completion of this Extraordinary Deliberation marks the emergence of new leaders whose direction and guidance are expected to further advance the Communication Science Student Association in the future.
