FISIP UNDIP Holds Batch 1 of the WCU Paper Output Strengthening Program in Jepara

Jepara, November 7–9, 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Diponegoro, held the “WCU Paper Output Strengthening per Faculty – Batch 1” program themed “Manuscript Preparation and Technical Assistance for International Reputable Publications” at Undip’s Jepara Campus.

This initiative is part of FISIP Undip’s efforts to strengthen the position of the Faculty and University as a World Class University (WCU) by enhancing the international publication productivity of its academic staff. The first batch involved lecturers from the Department of Public Administration and the Department of Politics and Government Studies.

In his remarks, Dean of FISIP UNDIP, Dr. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., emphasized that the program is not only about writing techniques but also about academic reputation building.

“This program aims to enhance the international publication productivity of all lecturers within FISIP. Universitas Diponegoro is deeply committed to advancing research and publication output, as both are key indicators of our standing as a World Class University,” he stated.

Vice Dean II, Ika Riswanti Putranti, Ph.D. highlighted the importance of maintaining continuity and collaboration in academic writing.

“This initiative is our collective effort to strengthen writing and publication skills. We hope that lecturers can truly enjoy the process — from developing ideas to collaborating — so that the faculty and university publication targets can be successfully achieved,” she said.

Vice Dean I, S. Rouli Manalu, Ph.D. also pointed out that writing for international journals requires more than technical skill; it needs strategic awareness.

“Today, we have access to numerous tools and platforms that support academic writing. Equally important are strategies for choosing the right journal, understanding its scope, and developing manuscripts that meet international standards,” she explained.

Throughout the three-day camp, participants engaged in intensive writing sessions, progress reviews, and KBK (Academic Expertise Cluster) discussions. The program also included an inspiring session titled “Enjoying the Publication Process: From Ideas to Global Collaboration,” which explored how to develop research ideas, select reputable journals, utilize writing-support technologies, and foster academic collaborations worldwide.

On the second day, the Dean reiterated that this program serves as a key instrument for supporting Undip’s global ranking and academic reputation.

“This activity represents a concrete step by FISIP in contributing to Undip’s overall ranking performance and strengthening our faculty’s visibility on the global stage,” he emphasized.

The final day featured a progress review session for each Academic Expertise Cluster, led directly by the Dean. He expressed appreciation for the participants’ enthusiasm and encouraged them to maintain writing consistency after the event.

Vice Dean I, Rouli Manalu, Ph.D. concluded by saying:

“We expect to see an increasing number of scientific papers from FISIP submitted to international journals. This is not merely about meeting institutional targets — it’s our real contribution to advancing Undip’s global presence.”

Participants and cluster heads responded positively and expressed hope that similar programs will continue regularly across all departments.

The Batch 2 of this program is scheduled for November 28–30, 2025, involving lecturers from the Departments of Communication Science, Business Administration, and International Relations. (Muhammad Rif’at Al-Razi)
