Semarang, Indonesia – In a historic achievement, students from the Bachelor of Business Administration program at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) have advanced to the semifinals of the 2025 National Student Competition in Business, Management, and Finance (Kompetisi Mahasiswa Nasional Bidang Ilmu Bisnis, Manajemen, dan Keuangan or KBMK).
In this prestigious competition, organized by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, Directorate General of Higher Education, and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Undip successfully qualified three teams: two from FISIP and one from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). This remarkable feat was secured after a rigorous online preliminary round that evaluated 594 papers and presentation videos from 203 universities across Indonesia.

The first team from FISIP, named SERENATA, qualified in the Business Plan Competition category with their innovative project titled “SERENATA: Biodegradable Sanitary Napkin Innovation from Banana Stem and Betel Leaf.” The team comprises Arwienda Rizqina Putri and Farahdina Nurrachma from Business Administration, along with Atikah Khairunnisa from Chemical Engineering.

Meanwhile, the second FISIP team advanced in the Scientific Paper Writing category with their work, “BioMarinTech Platform as an Innovation for Seaweed Downstreaming: A Sustainable Business Model to Enhance National Maritime Industry Competitiveness.” The BioMarinTech team members, Rijaldi Rauf and Yusuf Pramana Putra, are both Business Administration students.
Having passed the administrative, paper, and video presentation assessment stages, the three Undip teams will now proceed to the semifinal and grand final rounds, scheduled for October 23-26, 2025, at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN). This marks the first time a delegation from Undip has reached the national level of this competition.
The Team Advisor for the Business Administration teams, Dhaifina Idznitia Apriyani Naimi, S.M., M.B.A., noted that while the competition has existed for some time, it has not been widely popular among Undip students. However, she expressed strong belief in the students’ potential and the university’s comprehensive facilities, which she credited for propelling the teams to the national semifinals and finals.
“We recognize the extraordinary potential of Undip students and the completeness of Undip’s resources. We were confident that with proper coaching, they would achieve great results. This has been proven true, as this year Undip made history by reaching the national level for the first time, represented by two teams from Business Administration FISIP,” stated Dhaifina in a WhatsApp interview on Thursday, October 2nd.
Furthermore, Dhaifina added her hopes for the Undip delegation to bring honor to the university and ultimately win the competition.
“It is our hope that the Undip students can win and represent Undip well. Additionally, I hope that more Undip students will participate in this competition in the future, as it is one of the most prestigious national contests. May this lead to more victories for our students and further glory for Undip,” Dhaifina concluded.
