The 2025 General Election (PEMIRA) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro, was officially held on Monday, December 1, 2025, at the FIMENA Auditorium. This event stands as the largest democratic agenda within the faculty, involving all active students of FISIP Undip. Commission I of the Student Senate served as the main organizer, with Radja Zachary Santoso Putra leading the series of activities as the chair of the organizing committee.
The PEMIRA series commenced on November 2, beginning with the socialization of technical guidelines that introduced the rules and mechanisms of the 2025 election. The registration for senatorial and Student Executive Board (BEM) candidates was open from November 5 to 13. A total of 23 students registered as senatorial candidates, and one pair registered for the positions of BEM Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson. The document verification process was rigorous. One senatorial candidate was disqualified due to incomplete requirements. The pair registering for BEM leadership in the first phase also did not pass verification due to administrative issues. This situation required the committee to adjust the timeline and reopen registration from November 18 to 19. It was in this second phase that the BEM candidate pair re-registered and finally passed verification on November 22.
Following the formalization of all candidates, the election atmosphere became palpable across the campus. Written campaigns took place from November 22 to 24 on the respective candidates’ social media and at several points on campus. An oral campaign session was held on November 25 in the courtyard behind Building B, where students gathered to witness senatorial candidates and the BEM candidate pair present their visions. A public competency test for the BEM Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson candidates was conducted on November 26 in the FIMENA Auditorium, featuring panelists who challenged the candidates on strategic student issues.
The climax of the event was the voting and vote-counting day. Students came in succession to exercise their voting rights, with the committee ensuring a transparent process. The vote count began at 6:00 PM, with students observing the proceedings until completion.

The Government Studies program contributed the highest voter participation. The vote tally reflected that students openly expressed their preferences in an atmosphere of healthy competition.
The 2025 PEMIRA constituted a robust lesson in campus political engagement. Students had the opportunity to interact directly with candidates, evaluate their ideas, and witness the dynamics of campus democracy unfold in real-time. The committee ensured all stages were conducted transparently and in accordance with regulations.
The results of the 2025 PEMIRA will form the foundation for the new leadership of the FISIP Undip Student Executive Board and Senate for 2026. Students hope the elected leaders will champion organizational aspirations and foster a more inclusive organizational climate. This year’s election also stands as proof that FISIP Undip students uphold democratic values through active participation, open discourse, and respect for an honest and integral electoral process.
