FISIP Undip Student Wins Bronze Medal at an International Competition!

Achmad Yassar Dwilaksono from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), along with his team members—Talitha Zarifah Anwar (FISIP), Muhammad Rizky Andreansyach (FISIP), Sabrina Isyaah Saharany (FISIP), Hasna Nur Aini Fatihah Rizky (Faculty of Medicine), and Emanuella Sharen Gunawan (FISIP)—successfully earned a Bronze Medal at the Japan Design Idea Invention Expo 2025, held on July 5–6, 2025 at Bellesalle Haneda Airport, Tokyo.

In this prestigious competition, the Undip Team showcased their outstanding innovation, “SewoApp”, a digital vehicle rental platform designed to enable seamless travel with a strong emphasis on transaction security, user convenience, and most importantly, environmental sustainability. One of SewoApp’s standout features is its carbon-offsetting capability, which calculates users’ carbon footprints to support eco-friendly mobility. Beyond that, SewoApp also empowers small- and medium-scale rental businesses by integrating them into a modern digital ecosystem, expanding their market reach while simultaneously promoting sustainable transportation. Their dedication and breakthrough innovation received high praise from the international judging panel.

The Japan Design Idea Invention Expo 2025 brings together inventors, innovators, and creative thinkers from around the globe. The event serves as a strategic platform for showcasing groundbreaking ideas and designs while fostering a dynamic space for technological collaboration. At this distinguished international event, Yassar and his team were announced as Bronze Medal recipients for their impactful SewoApp innovation.

This achievement further strengthens Undip’s reputation—particularly FISIP’s—in nurturing students who actively create solutions for real-world challenges. By competing in Tokyo, the team not only introduced SewoApp to an international audience but also demonstrated the readiness of Indonesian youth to contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in the areas of Sustainable Cities and Communities, Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Climate Action.
