Semarang (25/10) — Digital transformation and sustainability in governance have emerged as strategic issues demanding serious attention from academics, practitioners, and policymakers. In today’s fast-paced and dynamic era, the implementation of Digital & Sustainable Governance is pivotal to creating a public sector that is adaptive, transparent, and sustainability-oriented. This very issue was the central theme of the National Seminar and Annual Meeting organized by the Association of Indonesian Government Studies Program (KAPSIPI) and the Association of Government Studies Lecturers (ADIPSI), titled “Digital & Sustainable Governance, Policy and Politics in Public Sector.”
The hybrid event was held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, via Zoom Meeting and in person at the FIMENA Auditorium, Building A, 3rd Floor, at the FISIP Undip Tembalang Campus. It was attended by academics and lecturers from various universities across Indonesia. The event featured notable speakers, including Dr. Sri Suning Kusumawardani, S.T., M.T. (Director of Resources at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology) and Dr. Uday Chatterjee (Assistant Professor at Vidyasagar University, India, and also a Editor Series Sustainability at Springer).
In her opening remarks, the Chairperson of KAPSIPI, Prof. Dr. Dyah Mutiarin, S.IP., M.Si., stated that this event serves as a crucial momentum to strengthen networks and generate new ideas in the field of government studies. “This is an opportunity for all of us to meet in person and optimize our time together to produce tangible outputs,” she said. She added that with the numerous scheduled events, she hoped the outcomes would be fruitful. Furthermore, Prof. Dyah expressed her hope that this gathering would yield new conceptual frameworks on how government studies confronts the challenges and opportunities of digital government.
Echoing this sentiment, the Chairperson of ADIPSI, Dr. M. Nur Alamsyah, S.IP., M.Si., in his address emphasized the importance of this event for government studies lecturers throughout Indonesia. “This activity is a significant moment for all lecturers to interact, especially for ADIPSI members. It is a momentum to rekindle our collective spirit to advance government studies lecturers towards a better future,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., who officially opened the event, warmly welcomed the participants and expressed his support for hosting the event at FISIP Undip. On this occasion, he introduced various academic support facilities within the Faculty, including the FiDiGiTech Computer Laboratory, the Entrepreneurship Laboratory, and the Multimedia Laboratory, which serve as platforms for students and lecturers to continuously develop innovation and research.
The National Seminar and Annual Meeting encompassed a diverse agenda, including the National Seminar, a Focus Group Discussion on Government Studies Concepts, a Quality Assurance Workshop, the signing of Memoranda of Understanding between Universities and KAPSIPI & ADIPSI, a Workshop on Master’s Program Curriculum Development, an Annual Meeting, and other activities. The entire program was divided into three sessions—morning, afternoon, and evening—designed to strengthen inter-institutional collaboration and produce strategic formulations for the development of government studies in the digital and sustainable era.
