FISIP UNDIP Presents: Easy Strategies for Publishing in Leading Journals with Prof. Lorenzo Ciatello

Semarang, September 1, 2025 – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Diponegoro University (UNDIP) had the honor of hosting Prof. Lorenzo Ciatello, a distinguished scholar from L’Orientale University in Italy. He is a leading expert in the field of Public Finance and Multilevel Governance.

The seminar, held at the Senate Meeting Room of FISIP UNDIP, carried the theme “Sharing Experiences: Easy Ways to Publish in Leading Journals.” The event began with a warm welcome from the Dean of FISIP UNDIP. “We are proud to have a distinguished academic here today, and we hope this event can serve as a source of inspiration and guidance for all of us involved in research and publishing,” said the Dean.

This event is part of FISIP UNDIP’s ongoing commitment to building an excellent and collaborative academic environment. By bringing together scholars from around the world, FISIP UNDIP continues to provide its community with access to world-class resources, expertise, and opportunities to grow in the academic field.

Prof. Ciatello shared his academic journey, highlighting challenges and successes. One of the most memorable anecdotes he shared was the story of a manuscript rejection he faced early in his career. “I was once rejected by a leading journal, and I only had two days to completely revise my manuscript before resubmitting it,” explained Prof. Ciatello.

Throughout the seminar, Prof. Ciatello offered practical strategies for overcoming obstacles in the publishing process. “The key to successful publishing is not only research, but how you go through the entire process,” he emphasized. He underlined the importance of perseverance: “Don’t be afraid to dig deeper into your work. Keep exploring, even when you feel you’ve reached your limits,” he added.

The seminar was more than just a lecture; it was an interactive experience that included a lively Q&A session. Lecturers and students enthusiastically asked questions, engaging with Prof. Ciatello to gain further insights into the process of publishing scholarly articles.

The event was closed by the Dean, “Prof. Ciatello’s valuable contribution today has greatly inspired many of us to move forward in our own academic publishing endeavors,” said the Dean. Participants felt empowered and motivated to take concrete steps toward improving their publishing practices.
