FISIP Undip to Hold TEMI Workshop to Enhance Lecturers’ Competence in English-Medium Instruction

Semarang (11/08) – In an effort to improve teaching quality and support the internationalization of higher education, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) organized a Workshop on Teaching Using English as a Medium of Instruction (TEMI). This initiative was conducted in collaboration with the IALF Bali and aimed to equip lecturers with the skills to deliver instruction in English.

S Rouli Manalu, S.Sos., MCommSt., PhD., Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs at FISIP Undip, emphasized the importance of the workshop in her opening remarks. “This is part of our commitment to enhancing the quality of our teaching,” she stated. She also explained that this workshop was a follow-up to the public hearing as part of the Faculty’s commitment to continuously improve the quality of learning in the classroom.

The TEMI Workshop will run for five consecutive days, from August 11 to 15, 2024, featuring a trainer from IALF Bali, David Bradbury. The workshop is attended by selected FISIP Undip lecturers who had undergone a prior screening process—demonstrating the Faculty’s commitment to ensuring well-prepared and competent participants.

Through this training, FISIP Undip aims to strengthen lecturers’ capacity in facing global challenges while fostering a more competitive and internationally standardized academic environment.
