In support of this initiative, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) organized the PEKERTI Training, officially launched on Monday, 21 July 2025.
The event was attended by Undip’s Director of Human Resources, Prof. Ir. Mochamad Arief Budihardjo, S.T., M.Eng.Sc, Env.Eng, Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN Eng., and the Vice Director of Career Evaluation and Development, Prof. Dr. Moh. Djaeni, S.T., M.Eng. In his remarks, Prof. Arief Budihardjo, Director of Human Resources at Undip, emphasized the importance of educators’ ability to filter information and utilize technology wisely in the learning process. “Our current challenge is to discern which information is applicable to us, including the use of AI,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., highlighted in his speech that this training is part of an academic leadership strategy to prepare future generations. “A leader has to prepare the next generation,” he said. He also noted that the training aligns with efforts to achieve the vision of World-Class Study Programs and supports Undip’s goal of ranking among the top 500 universities globally.
Furthermore, Teguh Yuwono stressed that teaching should not be limited to delivering subject matter but must also be grounded in humanistic values and ethics. He expressed hope that, through this training, educators would not only focus on knowledge transfer but also prioritize empathy, ethics, and communication in their teaching.
With the PEKERTI Training, new lecturers at FISIP Undip can enhance their competence in developing adaptive, innovative, and student-centred learning methods. This training serves as a concrete step in fostering a culture of academic excellence within Universitas Diponegoro, particularly at FISIP.
