Semarang (18/07) — Carrying the mandate as the management board (takmir) of a mosque is not a light responsibility; it is a noble duty to uphold spiritual values, reinforce academic integrity, and build a campus civilization founded on faith and knowledge. To formally establish the new leadership, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro held a prayer gathering (Istighosah) and appointment ceremony for the Darul Ilmi Mosque Takmir Board for the 2025–2030 period on Friday, July 18, 2025.

This solemn event invited Drs. Ahmad Muqowwam, who was appointed as the Advisory Board Member for the 2025–2030 term, along with members of the academic community of FISIP Undip. The Istighosah and appointment served as both a spiritual moment and a collective commitment to revitalize the mosque’s role as a center for academic, religious, and community development within the campus environment.

In his remarks, the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., expressed his hope that the Darul Ilmi Mosque would become an epicenter of both intellectual and spiritual activities.

“A mosque is a center of civilization, a center of struggle, a place of learning, and a hub for social and religious interaction. Therefore, I hope our mosque becomes a center of civilization, a hub of knowledge, and a focal point for various campus activities, particularly in the contexts of education and teaching,” he stated.

He also emphasized the importance of exemplary leadership from the takmir board. “May the mosque’s board set an example—not only within the classroom, but across the entire campus community,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Muqowwam, in his speech, highlighted the importance of practicing religion with clear guidance and a balanced integration of knowledge and action. He underscored the need for proper methodology in correlating knowledge with good deeds. Addressing the newly appointed board, he said:

“Be more optimized, be more creative in nurturing the young generation on this campus.”

The Chairman of the Darul Ilmi Mosque Takmir Board for 2025–2030, Widayanto, S.Sos., M.Si., stated that the leadership role is a sacred trust to be fulfilled with sincerity. He emphasized the importance of collaboration among all campus elements in realizing the vision of the mosque as a center of positive engagement.

“It requires synergy from the entire academic community of FISIP to bring our collective aspirations to life,” he said.

He also encouraged the new board to view their role as a form of worship. “Let us consider our role on the Takmir Board of Darul Ilmi Mosque as a pathway to spiritual devotion,” he added.

The appointment ceremony was further enlivened by a performance from the FISIP Undip rebana ensemble, consisting of lecturers and administrative staff, who performed a series of Islamic devotional songs, including Assalamualaik, Mahalul Qiyam, and the traditional Javanese Lir-ilir, enriching the spiritual atmosphere of the event.

With this new leadership in place, the Darul Ilmi Mosque of FISIP Undip is expected to become more vibrant in hosting religious activities and serving as a center for the growth of Islamic values in harmony with academic pursuits and the spirit of modern progress.
