Semarang (15/05) – Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), through its Technical Implementation Unit for Disability Consultation Services, Discipline Enforcement & Student Ethics (LKDPDEM) and Task Force for Violence Prevention & Handling (PPK), conducted an outreach session on counselling services, disciplinary enforcement, and violence reporting mechanisms on campus. The event took place on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the FIMENA Auditorium, 3rd Floor of Building A, FISIP Undip, Tembalang, featuring speakers such as Dr. Annastasia Ediati, S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D. (UPT LKDPDEM) and Dr. Manik Mahachandra (Undip PPK Task Force). The session aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of their rights and responsibilities, as well as procedures for addressing ethical violations and violence on campus.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Nuswantoro Dwiwarno, S.H., M.H., Vice Director of Student Affairs and Alumni at FISIP Undip, emphasized Undip’s commitment to creating a safe and comfortable campus environment. “There has been a shift in social interactions today—perhaps in social or religious norms. This differs from when I was an undergraduate student alongside my peers here. Such shifts often lead to frictions that sometimes escalate into problems,” he stated. He encouraged inter-unit collaboration to address issues like academic pressure and mental health while urging students to leverage extracurricular activities for personal development.

Dr. Annastasia Ediati outlined UPT LKDPDEM’s three core services: counselling, disability assistance, and disciplinary enforcement. “About 70% of cases involve academic struggles—difficulties with lecturers, coursework, group assignments, overwhelming deadlines, or even heartbreak affecting motivation. The range is broad,” she explained. She highlighted the high demand for counselling, including unique cases like students registering at 1 AM due to overthinking. For students with disabilities, UPT provides specialized support, such as hearing aids and mental health assistance. Ediati also warned of consequences for ethical violations, including catcalling and bullying, which may result in academic sanctions.

Meanwhile, Dr. Manik Mahachandra introduced the PPK Task Force’s role in handling violence cases under Ministerial Regulation No. 55 of 2024, covering physical, psychological, and sexual violence, bullying, and intolerance. “Only reported cases are visible, but many remain undisclosed due to fear or reluctance. Sexual violence, for instance, is just the tip of the iceberg,” he noted. Reports can be submitted via the Task Force’s WhatsApp or Instagram, followed by verification, witness examinations, and rector-approved sanctions.

The event aimed to raise awareness about academic ethics, mental health, and the courage to report violence. Through integrated services from UPT LKDPDEM and the PPK Task Force, Undip strives to foster an inclusive, safe, and integrity-driven educational ecosystem.
