Semarang (09/05) – The People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI) conducted a 2025 Community Aspiration Absorption and Four National Pillars Socialization event at the Auditorium, 3rd Floor of Building A, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), Tembalang, on Friday, May 9, 2025. The activity emphasized the imperative to institutionalize the Four National Pillars (Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia/NKRI, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika) as practical foundations for national life, particularly among academics and youth. Attendees included Samuel JD Wattimena (Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives) and Elly Asmara (Head of West Semarang District).

In his opening remarks, the Dean of FISIP Undip declared: “Our mission is to cultivate nationalism, national unity, and cooperation—values taught to us by Bung Karno.” This statement reaffirmed FISIP Undip’s commitment to strengthening national values within academia.

Samuel JD Wattimena, in his presentation, stressed: “My presence here aims to foster dialogue about these Four Pillars—how to actualize them beyond slogans, from Pancasila’s first principle (Belief in the One Supreme God) to the fifth (Social Justice), the 1945 Constitution, NKRI, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.” He highlighted the urgency for youth to internalize these pillars as guiding principles in leading the nation amid escalating global complexities.

Meanwhile, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin. elucidated the constitution’s role as a benchmark for comparing governmental systems across nations: “To understand other countries’ governance and politics, you must study their constitutions.” He emphasized that the Four Pillars serve as Indonesia’s ideal and constitutional foundation, regulating all aspects of national life, including electoral systems and regional autonomy.

The event, attended enthusiastically by FISIP Undip students, featured interactive discussions and in-depth Q&A sessions. This socialization aims to deepen understanding and implementation of national values in academic and societal spheres while serving as a platform to absorb aspirations, particularly from academia.
