Semarang (04/25) — In commemoration of Kartini Day, the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) held a special event themed “Kartini’s Spirit of Struggle for Future Change and the Beauty of Fellowship” on Friday, April 25, 2025.

The event was attended by esteemed female guests comprising lecturers, education personnel, as well as the spouses of FISIP Undip lecturers and staff. The attendees appeared elegant in national attire, kebaya, an Indonesian cultural heritage whose beauty has been recognized internationally.

The series of events commenced with a warm welcome from the Chairperson of DWP FISIP Undip, Mrs. Tatik Indarto Teguh Yuwono. In her address, Mrs. Tatik invited all attendees to reflect upon the spirit of the struggle of Raden Ajeng Kartini in advocating for women’s rights and access to education.

“Thanks to her services, Indonesian women now have the opportunity to develop themselves and even become leaders who bring about change. However, Kartini’s struggle is not yet over. There are still Indonesian women who have not obtained their rights. Let us continue Kartini’s spirit of struggle. Long live Indonesian women,” stated Mrs. Tatik with enthusiasm.

Following the welcoming remarks, the event proceeded with a group photo session and a creative gymnastics performance accompanied by national songs, which was enthusiastically participated in by all guests. The atmosphere became even more lively with various joyful competitions, such as a graceful attire contest, a traditional Javanese spice gathering competition, and a Chinese whispers game. All competition participants engaged with remarkable enthusiasm and cheerfulness.

Furthermore, the event was enlivened by the distribution of attractive door prizes, which was one of the most anticipated moments for the guests. The event then concluded with the announcement of the competition winners, which added to the atmosphere of camaraderie and merriment among all participants.

Through this event, DWP FISIP Undip not only celebrated the spirit of Kartini but also strengthened the bonds of fellowship among its members, while reaffirming its commitment to continue Kartini’s struggle to realize a better future for Indonesian women.
