Semarang, August 28, 2025 – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University (FISIP UNDIP) once again presents an international-scale academic activity through the holding of an International Guest Lecturer . This event presents a guest speaker from Italy, Prof. Lorenzo Cicatiello , an expert in the field of Public Finance and Multilevel Governance from the Department of Human and Social Sciences, University of Napoli “L’Orientale”.
The event, which took place in the Senate Meeting Room of FISIP Undip , was officially opened by the Dean of FISIP UNDIP, Dr. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin. In his remarks, Dr. Teguh emphasized the importance of cross-country academic forums to strengthen international collaboration, broaden students’ horizons, and support FISIP UNDIP’s target of becoming a world-class faculty .
“This meeting provides a strategic platform for students and lecturers to exchange ideas directly with international academics. We hope that Prof. Cicatiello’s presence will enrich our perspectives, particularly in understanding the dynamics of multilevel governance in European countries,” said Dr. Teguh Yuwono in his opening remarks.
In a guest lecture, Prof. Lorenzo Cicatiello presented contemporary issues surrounding public financial management, coordination between levels of government, and the challenges faced by European Union countries in maintaining transparent and accountable governance. He also emphasized the relevance of the study for Indonesia, which is strengthening its decentralization and regional governance agenda.
The event was attended by lecturers, students, and researchers who enthusiastically discussed the practice and theory of multilevel governance. The discussion was interactive, with participants fielding critical questions on issues ranging from fiscal transparency and the effectiveness of cross-government coordination to opportunities for international research collaboration.
