Semarang, August 20, 2025 – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro conducted a Character Building program (Pendikar) for new students of the 2025/2026 academic year from August 20 to 22, 2025. This initiative is part of Universitas Diponegoro’s new student orientation series, held individually by each faculty and facilitated by FISIP lecturers who have received specialized training through the Pendikar Training of Trainers (ToT).

Over three days, new students were guided to explore self-awareness, build character, and strengthen the core values of Universitas Diponegoro: honesty, fairness, courage, and compassion. On the first day, students were introduced to cultural values, campus ethics, and the importance of a growth mindset and mental health. Through sessions on “Personal Branding” and group discussions, participants learned to cultivate self-confidence, courage, and empathy for others.

The second day focused on the theme “Me and My Team.” Students were trained to collaborate in groups through creative activities such as “One Image, Many Souls” and discussions addressing real-world problems in their surroundings. Through these exercises, students learned to appreciate diversity, practice effective communication, and develop innovative solutions to create a positive impact on society.

On the final day, the theme “Me and My Nation” emphasized the importance of students’ roles as citizens with integrity. Through national reflection sessions, students were encouraged to understand the values of Pancasila, embrace diversity, and prepare themselves to become agents of change contributing to the nation and state.

The event took place in an atmosphere full of enthusiasm and energy. New students actively participated in discussions, courageously expressed their opinions, and immersed themselves in various games and simulations designed to strengthen their character. Laughter, cheers, and warm teamwork created a positive energy throughout the program. Many students reported feeling motivated, more self-assured, and ready to embark on their campus life with a more mature and responsible attitude.

Pendikar FISIP 2025 employed varied learning methods—including discussions, interactive games, and role-playing simulations—enabling new students to learn actively and meaningfully. More than just an orientation activity, Pendikar aims to shape individuals who excel academically while possessing strong character.

With the spirit of “Undip Bermartabat, Undip Bermanfaat” (Undip Noble and Valuable), FISIP Undip is committed to nurturing a young generation that is not only intelligent but also embodies integrity, social awareness, and the courage to face future challenges.
