Opening Ceremony of the New Student Orientation at FISIP UNDIP 2025

Semarang, August 19, 2025 – Under the shade of a cloudy sky, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University (FISIP UNDIP), warmly welcomed the arrival of new students for the 2025/2026 academic year. As a meaningful academic tradition, the series of Campus Life Orientation for New Students (PKKMB) and Character Education (Pendikar) was officially opened, involving the entire academic community, including administrators, lecturers, educational staff, students, and office attendants.

The event began with the singing of the Indonesian National Anthem and the UNDIP Hymn, followed by a joint prayer that created a solemn atmosphere full of hope for the smooth implementation of PKKMB and Pendikar 2025.

Entering the main agenda, Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of FISIP UNDIP, S. Rouli Manalu, Ph.D., delivered the new student admission report. In 2025, FISIP UNDIP welcomed 1,414 undergraduate students, 130 master’s students, and 11 doctoral students. In her message, she conveyed,

“Be an open minded person. The academic world is immensely rich with new ideas, diverse perspectives, and critical thinking. Be someone who is willing to be shaped, dare to be different, yet remain humble and continue to learn.”

The enthusiasm of the new students was also warmly greeted by the President of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of FISIP UNDIP and the Chairperson of the Student Senate, who emphasized the importance of togetherness and solidarity in navigating academic life.

The highlight of the event was marked by the speech and official opening delivered by Dean of FISIP UNDIP, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin. In his remarks, he underlined the importance of networking as a key to future success:

“Experts say, one enemy is too many, a thousand friends are never enough. With wide networks of friends, you will find it easier to arrange and achieve your goals.”

The Dean also expressed full support for new students to actively participate in various national and international competitions, bringing pride and advancement to Diponegoro University.

After the official opening, new students were directed to their respective classrooms to continue with the PKKMB sessions. This historic moment marked the beginning of a long journey for FISIP UNDIP’s new students in pursuing education, broadening their horizons, and carving achievements at their beloved campus.
