Paperpal Training to Enhance the Publication Quality of FISIP Undip Lecturers

Semarang (24/06) – In an effort to enhance the capacity of lecturers in global academic publishing, the Research and Community Service Development Unit (UP3) of FISIP Undip organized a Paperpal Usage Training on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the Theater Room, 1st Floor of Building C, FISIP Undip Tembalang Campus. This activity is part of the Faculty’s commitment to boosting research productivity and lecturer publications through the utilization of cutting-edge technology in academic writing.

The training, attended by FISIP Undip lecturers, featured competent speakers: Prof. Firmansyah, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., Vice Chair of Research at LPPM Undip, and Juventius Jaya, Country Manager of Editage Indonesia. Both speakers shared their knowledge and expertise on optimizing the use of AI-powered academic writing tools.

Irfan Murtadho Yusuf, S.A.P., MPM, a member of UP3 FISIP Undip, emphasized the importance of this training in his opening remarks. “This activity aims to provide significant benefits for lecturers, including knowledge updates, skill enhancement, collaboration and networking opportunities, and particularly strengthening FISIP Undip’s research at the global level,” he explained. He also added that this training is expected to assist FISIP lecturers in exploring and maximizing the features available in Paperpal.

The training was conducted interactively, focusing on three main topics: Paperpal account activation, an introduction to the various tools available on the platform, and hands-on practice in using Paperpal for academic writing and manuscript editing. Participants gained a comprehensive understanding of how to leverage Paperpal’s advanced features, such as grammar checking, plagiarism detection, and translation tools, to improve the quality of international publications.

This initiative is expected to be a foundational step in fostering a stronger research culture at FISIP Undip while increasing the quantity and quality of lecturer publications in reputable international journals. By mastering advanced writing tools like Paperpal, FISIP Undip lecturers are anticipated to become more competitive in the global academic landscape. (Inayah)
