2025 Public Hearing: A Platform for Student Aspirations Towards the Advancement of FISIP Undip

Semarang (5/6) – In an effort to promote transparency and active student participation, the Student Senate of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro held the Public Hearing 2025 event on Thursday, June 5, 2025, in the FIMENA Auditorium, Building A, 3rd Floor, FISIP Undip Tembalang Campus. This event served as a strategic forum for students to openly and constructively voice their aspirations, criticisms, and suggestions to the faculty leadership.

Public Hearing 2025 was attended by the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., along with the faculty leadership, as well as student representatives from all study programs. In his opening remarks, the event chairperson, Desty Sendina Perdana Arta, emphasized the importance of this forum as a space for two-way communication between students and faculty leaders. “I hope this forum can be an open discussion space while still maintaining ethics and mutual respect,” she said.

In line with that, the Chair of the FISIP Undip Student Senate, Anang Abhi Nugroho, stated that the Public Hearing was a crucial moment in the joint evaluation process. “It is hoped that through this Public Hearing, the aspirations of students who have concerns can be conveyed effectively and responded to well by the leadership and relevant stakeholders,” he explained.

The Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., in his speech, appreciated the organization of this event and stressed the importance of collaboration among all faculty elements. “The process of making FISIP more prestigious globally, at both the international and national levels, is our shared responsibility. I appreciate all parties because this campus does not belong solely to us. This campus belongs to the students, alumni, lecturers, parents, staff, and the wider community,” he said. He also added that current student activities are exceptionally dynamic, noting that students today are highly active and productive.

During the main session, the FISIP Undip Student Senate presented the findings of a study based on questionnaires completed by 659 active students from the 2021 to 2024 cohorts. Key topics of concern included issues related to the canteen, Smoke-Free Area (KTR), parking, classrooms, academics, and the library. This session was followed by a discussion and Q&A between students and faculty administrators.

Public Hearing 2025 served as a vital space for all elements of FISIP Undip to listen to and address various student concerns. With a spirit of collaboration and transparency, this event is expected to foster a more comfortable, inclusive, and responsive academic environment that meets the needs of the entire academic community.
