Semarang, May 23, 2025 – The Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Diponegoro University (FISIP UNDIP) once again demonstrated its dedication to community empowerment through an independent service program titled “Enhancing MSME Competitiveness through Training on Business Licensing and Legalization in Jabungan Village.”Held at the Jabungan Village Hall in Banyumanik District, the training aimed to improve Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises’ (MSMEs) understanding of the importance of legal business status and the process of obtaining a Business Identification Number (NIB) via the Online Single Submission (OSS) system.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Amni Zarkasyi Rahman, S.A.P., M.Si., Secretary of the Public Administration Study Program, who expressed optimism that the training would enable local MSMEs to better access critical business support such as financing and market partnerships, thereby strengthening their long-term competitiveness. Led by Dr. A.P. Dra. Tri Yuniningsih, M.Si., the community service team from the Public Administration Department, supported by experts Damaris Bernike Bellastuti, M.A., Nawangsasi Wincahyo Artiko Aji, S.A.P., M.A.P., and Renata Jati Nirmala, S.IAN., MPA, provided thorough guidance that combined multidisciplinary expertise to assist MSME actors in Jabungan Village.

Assessment results indicated a 78% improvement in understanding based on pre- and post-training tests, with 70% of participants actively involved in the OSS simulation exercises. The Jabungan Village government also committed to supporting the program’s continuity through facilitating ongoing assistance and fostering communication forums among MSMEs.

This initiative exemplifies the practical application of Public Administration principles focused on innovative public service delivery and community empowerment through technology and policy. With collaborative support, legally empowered MSMEs are poised to become key drivers of inclusive and competitive local economic growth.
