Semarang (05/07) – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) held the second day, first session of its 178th Yudisium Ceremony in the Auditorium Room, 3rd Floor of Building A, FISIP Undip, Tembalang. The event was attended by 97 prospective graduates from the Department of Business Administration, consisting of 2 master’s and 95 bachelor’s degree candidates, all of whom are poised to become agents of change in the business world.
In her address, the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, S Rouli Manalu, S.Sos., MCommSt., PhD., highlighted the importance of graduates making a social impact. “To make an impact means being able to contribute meaningfully, to create opportunities instead of merely seeking jobs, and to build efficient systems rather than simply going with the flow,” she emphasized. Rouli encouraged prospective graduates to cultivate adaptability and social responsibility amidst the uncertainties of global business, stressing that true success is measured by the benefits one brings to society, not merely by financial gain.
Andaya Fratama, representing the prospective graduates, also expressed deep gratitude to parents and the academic community in his speech. “Behind this achievement lies the sweat and tears of our parents — perhaps unseen, but felt in every step we’ve taken,” he said, pledging to uphold the name of his alma mater through the knowledge and life values he has gained.
Representing the parents, Eko Purwanto shared heartfelt reflections: “Watching our children don their graduation gowns and prepare to be conferred their degrees is a profoundly moving moment. It is a mix of overwhelming gratitude and emotion,” he stated while advising the graduates to continue learning with integrity.
Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., also took the occasion to announce the Faculty’s notable achievements, including its placement in the top 500+ globally (QS World University Rankings 2024) and 3rd nationally (Business Rank, EduRank). He introduced new faculty facilities, including the auditorium newly named FIMENA (FISIP International Magnificent Encouraging Nobelous Auditorium) and the Madinah Inspiring Chair.
The Yudisium ceremony concluded with an emotional performance of the song “Ayah” by the Dean, accompanied by faculty members from the Department of Business Administration — a touching finale to mark this important milestone.
This Yudisium is not the end, but rather the beginning of the graduates’ journey as innovators and problem-solvers in a dynamic and ever-evolving business landscape.
